December 15, 2006...Christmas Luncheon. CCT staff meet for at CCT HQ to share some Christmas cheer. A good time was had by all! CCT offices are closed from 12/25/06 - 1/1/07 for the holidays.

November 30, 2006... Cryogenic Control System Acceptance. CCT completed delivery and acceptance of the upgraded Liquid Fueling Facility cryogenic control system to NASA Wallops Flight Facility. The control system is based on CCT's Command and Control Product Line and is part of a new mobile cryogenic fueling capability being deployed by NASA to support commercial space launch operations.

November 13th - 15th, 2006... EMEX 2006. CCT showcased its C3I product line for surveillance and security applications at the Emergency Management & Homeland Security Expo in Orlando, Florida.

MILCOM06_ConferenceOctober 23rd - 25th, 2006... MILCOM 2006. With a theme of "Networking the Warfighter", the 2006 Military Communications Conference was held in Washington DC. CCT CTO Rodney Davis was there presenting a paper on the Generative Gateway Tookit for Tactical Data Link communications. Other notable attendees included VADM Nancy Brown, USN - Director of C4 Systems; and The Honorable Gordon England, Deputy Secretary of Defense.

October 13, 2006... More Fun on the Links. CCT staff participated in the benefit golf scramble for the FIT golf team at the Duran Golf Club in Vierra.

HomelandDefense06_ConferenceOctober 2 - 5, 2006...Homeland Defense Symposium. The Fourth Annual Homeland Defense Symposium was held October 2 - 5, 2006 at the world famous Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 2 1/2 day event was held in the partnership the Homeland Defense Foundation, NORAD, and US Northern Command. CCT was there showcasing their C3I product line and it applicability to automated Border and Transportation Security and Surveillance applications.

September 8, 2006...NASA Completes Certification of Wallops Flight Facility Range Data Acquisition Computer System. NASA and Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc. completed certification of the new Range Data Acquisition Computers System (RADAC), used for management of Range Safety at Wallops. The RADAC system integrates and fuses the various range sensory data sources providing a real-time common operating picture for Safety personnel. The system is based on CCT's Command and Control product line. The use of the commercial off-the-shelf Command and Control Toolkit was a significant change in acquisition approach for NASA. Relying on COTS instead of the traditional custom development effort proved to be a significant cost and risk advantage.

July 23, 2006...Cryogenic Liquid Fueling Facility C2 Upgrade. CCT was awarded a contract from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to enhance the Wallops mobile cryogenic Liquid Fueling Facility control system for enhanced fueling automation, enhance safety controls, and improved situation awareness. The current system was provided to NASA by CCT in collaboration with the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Consortium in 2003 and is based on CCT's Command and Control Product Line.

July 20, 2006...AFRL Research Project Review. The Air Force Phase II SBIR "Generative Gateway Toolkit for Heterogeneous C3I Systems" mid-term review meeting was held at CCT headquarters in Titusville, Florida. Greg Hupf, Principle Investigator, demonstrated the initial working prototype for the Generative Gateway Toolkit being developed by CCT to enhance the approach to creating tactical data link gateways. The demonstration included composition and autogeneration of a complete working tactical data link gateway from an easy to use graphical IDE.

July 13, 2006...Capability Enhancements for DHS pathfinder Fusion Center Project. CCT will be adding new features to the autonomous Douglas Border Patrol Station Fusion Center surveillance system, that includes enhanced camera auto-tracking, operator assisted threat prioritization, and enhanced Common Operating Picture that allows border operators to interactively control sensor and agent threat engagement tasking.

June 7-8, 2006...Technologies for Homeland Security. CCT CTO Rodney Davis presented a paper "Data Sensor and Alert Fusion Center" at the 2006 IEEE Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security in Boston. The paper focused on the border security enhancing innovations and progress to date on the pathfinder automated border surveillance system being built and deployed in Southern Arizona under DHS sponsorship.

March 28-29, 2006...AFRL Briefs MDA on Semantic Gateway Technology. In an effort to leverage research efforts by other agencies and accelerate technology insertion applicable to their mission, MDA was visiting Air Force Research Labs at Rome, New York. CCT's Generative Gateway Toolkit (GGTK) research was presented as a potential product for implementation of the Joint Range Extension Gateway. It is envisioned that the GGTK could be selected for testing in MDA's "X-Lab", a battlefield operations testbed, eventually leading to insertion into the missile defense architecture.

Stevens NYCMarch 16-17, 2006...Stevens Institute of Technology Training. Dr. Chan Yu, and Dr. Liwen Guo from the Design and Manufacturing Institute of Stevens Institute of Technology were at CCT facilities in Titusville Florida this week for training. Stevens Institute of Technology is using CCT's Command and Control Product Line as a tracking and sensor fusion platform in the Secure Infrastructure Technology Laboratory (SINTEL), a unique facility located adjacent to New York City, focused on security research for urban harbor environments.

March 10, 2006...Phase II of Automated Border Patrol Surveillance and Interdiction Project. CCT and Global Technical Systems kicked off the next phase of the DHS pathfinder Data, Sensor, Alert - Fusion Center (DSA-FC) project this week. CCT and GTS will be moving the highly automated surveillance system to Douglas Arizona for installation and operation by the Arizona Border Patrol. DSA-FC is expected to significantly enhance operational effectiveness of Border agents by integrating a diverse suite of sensor systems, cameras, and agents in to a common operating picture and automated interdiction system, demonstrating potentially critical aspects of the future US border protection strategy.

March 1, 2006...CCTK 2.1.3 Released. CCTK 2.1.3 is a minor update for CCTK that includes some of following enhancements: Support for the Farsync T Series Serial Communications Device, IRIG 161 Acquisition and Simulation, performance improvements for the GIS Display Environment, support for GLG 2.8 Dynamic Real-time Graphics, and support for the Tarsus PCM Decommutator & Simulator.

February 28, 2006...Tarsus PCM Decommutator & Simulator support for CCTK and Linux. CCT Engineers have completed development of the latest communications plug-in option for CCTK based on the Tarsus PCM-PCI Processor Board from Ulyssix Technologies, Inc.. The Tarsus board enhances CCTK's Linux based telemetry communications capabilities with higher throughput rates and increased configuration flexibility over its previous telemetry product offering. CCT telemetry decommutator and simulator are available as standard off-the-shelf options for CCTK, CCT's flagship command and control middleware product.

February 15, 2006...Florida Institute of Technology EMPLOYER DAY 2006. Florida Institute of Technology held the EMPLOYER DAY 2006, at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center, to connect graduating students and alumni with prospective employers. CCT hiring managers were there talking, and scheduling interviews, with over 50 graduating Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Physics majors.

December 5, 2005...Research Project Review. The Air Force Phase II SBIR "Generative Gateway Toolkit for Heterogeneous C3I Systems" kickoff meeting was held at CCT headquarters in Titusville, Florida. Greg Hupf, Principle Investigator, lead the discussion. Primary focus of the discussion was analysis and design progress of the Generative Gateway Toolkit being developed by CCT to enhance the approach to creating tactical data link gateways. AFRL representatives from Rome Labs and Hanscom Air Force Base participated in the review.

Homeland Security Fusion Center Demonstration - CCT, DHWA, Inc., and Global Technical Systems of Virginia Beach, VA demonstrated the initial Data, Sensor, Alert - Fusion Center to a collection of representatives from the US Government, including Homeland Security, US Border Patrol, FBI, the Navy, and others. The demonstration included fully automated Blue/Red Force tracking, classification, and engagement for border patrol operations. CCT's contribution to the project includes integration of ground sensors, radar, cameras, field agents, and advanced tracking data fusion in to a common operating picture and automated engagement system for tactical surveillance. At the core of this new automated targeting technology is CCT's Command and Control product line.

ITC LogoOctober 24-27, 2005... The 2005 International Telemetering Conference - The conference and exhibit was held at the Riviera Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas Nevada. CCT show cased its new Linux based Telemetry Gateway and Simulator product, both featuring the new Tarsus PCM board.

September 30, 2005... Delivery of Border Patrol Data and Sensor Fusion Center Command and Control System. CCT delivered the Command and Control System platform for integration at Global Technical Systems in Virginia Beach, VA. The new system integrates sensory data (radar, seismic, infrared, and proximity) with fusion, auto-tracking cameras, auto-dispatch blue force, and a universal common operating picture for streamlined border patrol operations. the new Homeland Security surveillance and engagement system is planned for initial deployment along the Arizona-Mexican border later this year to undergo testing and certification.

September 30, 2005... Delivery of TSPI Simulator. Honeywell - Aerospace Electronic Systems, Clearwater Florida, took delivery of the CCT TelSim telemetry simulator augmented to support IRIG-161 Time Space Position Information Transmission protocol. Honeywell plans to use the enhanced TelSim, and its model based simulation environment, to support ongoing development and testing of the mobile Ballistic Missile Range Safety Technology system.

August 31, 2005... CCT Recognized as SBIR Success Story. CCT was recently recognized by NASA for our success in the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program. The story is captured by NASA in a short Video - SBIR Halmarks of Success.

August 18, 2005... Stevens Institute of Technology is using CCT's Command and Control Product Line in Marine Surveillance Application. CCT recently delivered a CCS 2000 to Stevens Institute of Technology of Hoboken, NJ for integrating real-time sensory data to create a Common Operating Picture for urban marine surveillance and tracking.

August 9, 2005... NASA Exploration Command and Control Architecture. CCT was awarded a contract by Arctic Slope Corporation to provide strategic architecture planning support for the future NASA Exploration Command, Control and Monitoring product line. The future system is intended to provide a suite of common C3I assets that can be configured to support families of systems in support of NASA's return to the Moon and eventually on to Mars.

July 28, 2005... Falcon Command and Control System Preliminary Design. CCT completes the preliminary design for the Lockheed Martin and DARPA Falcon Small Launch Vehicle Command and Control System. The design is based on CCT's Command and Control product line and will enable highly automated and responsive tactical mission operations.

July 11-14, 2005... The National SBIR Phase II Conference 2005 CCT attends the National SBIR Phase II Conference 2005 in San Diego California, show casing the results of our latest Air Force and NASA sponsored command and control interoperability research: C3I semantic gateway, and Auto-generated Semantic Processing Services.

June 30, 2005...Data, Sensor, Alert - Fusion Center. CCT was awarded a contract from Global Technical Systems of Virginia Beach, VA to provide integrated command and control for the Border & Transportation Security Data, Sensor, Alert - Fusion Center. June 28-29, 2005...Liquid Fueling Facility Technical Peer Review. NASA and the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) hosted a technical review of the Wallops Flight Facility mobile cryogenic Liquid Fueling Facility design. Various government, spaceport, and industry team mates, including Command and Control Technologies, presented the LFF design to a group of peer stakeholders. Learn more about the LFF Control System.

June 3, 2005...Research Demonstration to NASA. CCT technical staff demoed the CCT developed Semantic Processing technology to a group of NASA engineers developing approaches to command and control for NASA's Exploration program. CCT's research promises to provide interoperability between legacy and future spacecraft and ground systems by enabling transparent encoding, decoding, and interpretation of systems-of-systems communications. May 31, 2005...Research Project Kickoff. The Air Force Phase II SBIR "Generative Gateway Toolkit for Heterogeneous C3I Systems" kickoff meeting was held at Rome Labs in Rome New York. Greg Hupf, Principle Investigator, Chad Woolf, Software Lead, and Rodney Davis, CCT CTO, were on hand presenting Plans for the two year project, and demoing a generative gateway technology prototype.

April 22, 2005...A New Addition to the Family. Kevin and Abbey Brown are the proud parents of a healthy 7lb baby girl named "Kaley".

April 11, 2005...Falcon Small Launch Vehicle Command and Control. CCT was awarded a contract from Lockheed Martin Michoud Space Systems to provide command and control capabilities for their new hybrid propulsion vehicle being developed to support the DARPA Falcon program.

April 5, 2005...Air Force Phase II SBIR Contract Awarded. CCT and the Air Force Research Lab successfully completed contract negotiations for CCT to provide new technology for auto-generation of tactical communications gateways.

March 31, 2005...Border Surveillance Project Kickoff. CCT CTO Rodney Davis visited with Global Technology Systems Corporation this week for a kickoff of a new advanced border surveillance system for the Department of Homeland Security. The automated targeting command and control system is based on the CCT Command and Control product line.

January 27, 2005...Completion of Air Force Phase 1 SBIR. CCT completes the 1st phase of research in to a new "Generative Gateway Toolkit for Heterogeneous C3I Systems". This research will provide a model driven composable architecture for C3I gateway systems. The 2nd phase of research is planned to start within the next few months. One of the major accomplishments of the Phase 1 research included the integration of Time Position Space Information information across three different protocols and system architectures using auto-generation from a single high level metadata language.

January 10-13, 2005...The Range and Spaceport Science and Technology Workshop was held in Colorado Springs, hosted by the Air Force and NASA. The conference was focused on refining technology roadmaps and statusing various related technology programs and efforts.

December 20, 2004...Air Force selects CCT Advanced C3I Communications Gateway Architecture project for continued research. The Air Force Research Lab at Rome, New York selected CCT's Phase II Small Business Innovative Research proposal "Generative Gateway Toolkit for Heterogeneous C3I Systems" for two more years of funding. This research will provide a model driven composable architecture for C3I gateway systems that will provide a generic platform independent software toolkit for creation of communication gateways. This new approach will simplify interoperability of new and legacy systems by leveraging transport and semantic exchange standardization. Use of product line architecture methods will be employed to ensure large-scale system reuse, enabling component-based gateways to be generated from high-level specifications. Central to the scope of the gateway architectural approach is accommodation for variation and evolutionary extension of communications and semantic processing services. It is expected to provide the DOD and commercial interests reusable platform independent, enhanced gateways that can be easily adapted to varying applications, providing tremendous life cycle cost savings. December 9, 2004...CIMTIC II Contract Award. The Air Force Air Armament Center at Eglin AFB awarded the C4I and Munitions Test Improvement Contract II to Miltec Corporation, Huntsville Al. CCT is part of Miltec's CIMTIC II team providing range software and systems engineering expertise. CIMTIC II is a five year IDIQ contract providing for unique, specialized hardware and software and/or prototype systems to develop and/or modify/improve Eglin Range Complex facilities and infrastructure to support C4I and munitions systems testing. The contract starts in January of 2005.

December 3, 2004...Future Interagency Range and Spaceport Technology (FIRST) support. CCT was hired by Booz Allen Hamilton to provide technical analysis and architectural consulting in support of the FIRST Program in the areas of Command and Control, Telemetry, Tracking, and Decision Making. FIRST is made up of NASA, Air Force, Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), the FAA, and other stakeholders, collaborating to implement an interagency technology program addressing space launch infrastructure needs associated with enabling responsive, low-cost, routine, and safe access to space.(http://firstprogram.ksc.nasa.gov/index.cfm)

November 30, 2004...NASA Capability Roadmap Workshop. The NASA Advanced Planning and Integration Office held a public outreach workshop in Washington DC soliciting inputs for agency capability roadmaps that support the Exploration Initiative. CCT presented four white paper briefs on subjects dealing with information architectures, large scale reuse using product lines, and simulation approaches that support cost and risk reduction for transformational range and spaceport technology.

September 27, 2004...NASA selects CCT for Continued Research. CCT's Phase II Small Business Innovative Research proposal "Advanced Data Description Exchange Services for Heterogeneous Vehicle and Spaceport Control and Monitor Systems" was awarded funding for another two years based on its potential benefits to the NASA Exploration Initiative. This research will provide a generic mulit-platform capability for auto-generating modular semantic processing software directly from a metadata specification. It is expected to enable dramatic reduction in the development costs for communications gateways, as well as enhance overall systems-of-systems interoperability. This technology will also have application in other industries, such as defense and telecomunications, where message based communications is commonly used. Learn more.

September 25 - 27, 2004...Hurricane Jeanne Comes to Town. Due to Hurricane Jeanne CCT shuts down operation at our main office in Central Florida yet again, but this time for only a few days. All CCT staff are safe and back to work with minimal new damage to personal property.

September 2 - 7, 2004...Hurricane Frances Shutdown. Due to Hurricane Frances CCT shuts down operation at our main office in Central Florida. Web and email services were temporarily off-line during the Labor Day holiday as a safety precaution. Many CCT staff were evacuated from the area during the storm. Fortunately all staff are safe and back to work. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in Florida who didn't fare as well.

September 1, 2004...NASA Human and Robotic Technology Broad Area Announcement Notices of Intent Selected for Full Proposal. Two CCT NOI's were selected for full proposal: "Virtual Exploration Enterprise Testbed" co-written with Ames Research Center and "A Comprehensive "One NASA" Command and Control Architectural Analysis for Future U.S. Exploration Fleet" co-written with Booz Allen Hamilton.

August 31, 2004...CCT Alumni Reunion. A reunion for a lot of old CCT friends and family is planned for August 31 at the Irish Pub in Titusville. Come out and join us. It should be great fun!

August 16, 2004...Completion of NASA Phase 1 SBIR. CCT completes the 1st phase of research in to new methods for achieving systems-of-systems interoperability using cross platform software created from semantic meta-data standards for telemetry and commanding.

August 4, 2004...Meeting to discuss technology developed for homeland security. CCT President, Pete Simons, and other local business and community leaders met with DHS Under Secretary of Science and Technology Dr Charles McQueary to discuss research and development priorities for the homeland.

May 21, 2004...Range Simulator Delivered. Wallops Flight Facility accepts new CCT range safety system simulator for the Advanced Range Integrated Simulation Environment (ARISE) with real-time radar, telemetry, weather, and timing interfaces; as well as software tools for mission simulation and range safety decision support.

May 7, 2004...XML telemetry data description language. CCT was awarded a contract by the NASA Launch Services Program to provide tools for description and exchange of telemetry for expendable launch ground systems.

March 12, 2004... CCT selected for Air Force research project. CCT was selected by the Air Force Research Lab to research advanced gateway architectures for combat systems communications.

March 3, 2004... CCT Awarded Contract to Deliver Range Simulator. CCT will provide a PC/Linux based version of it's Command and Control Toolkit product line configured for range safety simulation to the NASA Wallops Flight Facility. The system will support the Advanced Range Integrated Simulation Environment (ARISE) with real-time radar, telemetry, weather, and timing interfaces; as well as software tools for mission simulation and range safety decision support. ARISE is part of the WFF Advanced Range Technology Initiative, and will be used as a testbed for introduction of new range technologies.

March 2, 2004...The next Advanced Spaceport & Range Technologies Working Groups (ASTWG &ARTWG) Conference is scheduled for May 24-26, 2004 in Washington, D.C. The title for this next conference is "Transformational Space Launch & Operations Technologies" (http://artwg.ksc.nasa.gov).  The conference registration deadline is May 3, 2004.

February 6, 2004... GSAW 2004 Presentations. Rodney Davis, Chief Technology Officer, and Greg Hupf, Principle CCT Staff member, will be presenting a paper titled "Advanced Exchange Services for Vehicle and Spaceport Systems" at this years Ground Systems Architecture Workshop (http://sunset.usc.edu/gsaw/index.html) in El Segundo California, March 30, 2004.

Jan 19, 2004... New Geographical Information System (GIS) Pluggin for CCTK. CCT released the initial version of the real-time GIS Display Environment. This new product provides real-time maps for visualizing dynamic multi-target Time, Space, Position, Information in to command and control systems

Jan 7/9, 2004... NASA Wallops Flight Facility Starts Final Stages of Range Safety System Activation. CCT delivered a new Range Safety software distribution this week that will establish the configuration baseline for new Wallops Range Safety System.

Dec 19, 2003... New Version of CCTK - Version 2.0.5 of the Command and Control Toolkit is released today. The new version supports high speed graphing capabilities and a new GIS Map Widget plug-in for user configurable map displays for real-time tracking and range applications.

Nov 21, 2003... CCT Selected for NASA SBIR Award- NASA selected CCT's Phase 1 Small Business Innovative Research proposal for "Advanced Data Description Exchange Services for Heterogeneous Vehicle and Spaceport Control and Monitor Systems". This research will provide a generic platform independent software capability for exchange of semantic control and monitoring information between current and future spacecraft, spaceports, ranges, and space transportation systems.

Nov 3, 2003... New Telemetry Simulation Product Announcement - CCT announces the release of a new integrated telemetry simulation product called TelSim. TelSim is a fully integrated simulation and modeling system that can generate dynamic telemetry from a real-time model.

Oct 20-23, 2003... International Telemetering Conference - The 2003 International Telemetering Conference will be held in Las Vegas Riviera Hotel this week. CCT has teamed up with RSS Corporation to showcase two new ground breaking technologies: Iridium based Over-the-Horizon communications for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and CCT's newly released TelSim advanced telemetry simulation product.

Oct 6/7, 2003... CCT supports Advanced Spaceport Technology Working Group Technical Focus Area Conference - Representatives from CCT supported the Advanced Servicing and Command and Control ASTWG Subgroup meeting, along with other government and industry leaders, to help establish a visionary architecture for future spaceports.

Sept 22, 2003... CCT Announces Strategic Alliance with Reliable Systems Services Corporation - CCT and Reliable Systems Services announce a new strategic partnership to join forces, leveraging RSS' global Over-the-Horizon communications technology with CCT's advanced command and control product line.

Aug 26-28, 2003... NGLT Sensor Workshop - A workshop supported by industry and government stakeholders to address sensor and IVHM systems requirements and technologies for Next Generation Launch Technology and Orbital Space Plane is being held at the Debus Center at Kennedy Space Center.

Aug 20, 2003... CCT Supports Wallops Flight Facility Range Safety System CDR - John Ward presented a briefing on the CCT's COTS range safety tools at WFF as part of the Critical Design Review for the WFF Range Data Acquisition Computer system."

Aug  5, 2003... NASA Contract Awarded - LJT Associates and CCT will provide follow-on engineering services to activate the new Range Data Acquisition computer system at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Florida Aerospace Industry Survey Reaches CCT - Representatives from the Florida Aviation and Aerospace Alliance and Florida State University visit CCT today to interview the management team on current issues and challenges facing the state's space industry. 

Aug  4, 2003... CCT Presents Capabilities to Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control - CCT and other small technology companies will demonstrate their latest products and services at the LM-MFC facility in Orlando today. GSA Schedule Expanded - The GLG graphical display toolkit has been added to the CCT GSA schedule. GLG Toolkit from Generic Logic is available to the federal government exclusively through this GSA schedule.

July 31, 2003... Florida Space Research Institute - FSRI is formulating plans to attract new spacelift programs to the Eastern Range. FSRI meets with CCT officials today to discuss plans for a new program to demonstrate and qualify new technologies for future use at the range and Cape Canaveral Spaceport.

July 25, 2003... New Member of the Family - John and Charla Ward had a healthy 7 lb 13 oz  girl named Casie Marie around noon today. All are doing well; congratulations!

July 24, 2003... Florida Institute of Technology - FIT research vice president Bob Sullivan visits with CCT management today to discuss joint research and development interests.

July 21, 2003... International Marketing - A U.S. contractor on contract to an overseas test range operator visits CCT today for the second time to assess the potential applicability of our commercial range safety software to future needs of the test range.

July 15, 2003... Boeing-Autometric Visit - A joint CCT/Autometric meeting will be held today to discuss potential joint work at U.S. military test ranges.

June 26, 2003... Fueling Facility Control System Acceptance Test Completes -  CCT has successfully completed on-site acceptance testing of a new cryogenic propellant loading system for NASA and the Virginia Space Flight Center at Wallops Island.

June 17, 2003... Fueling Facility Control System Ships -  CCT engineers have completed factory testing of the control system for a new cryogenic propellant loading system for NASA and the Virginia Space Flight Center. May 19, 2003... Australian Flight Test Range Upgrade  -  A management delegation from the Royal Australian Air Force visits CCT headquarters today to review how our existing range safety technology could be applied to key upgrades at the Woomera test range in Australia.

May 12-16, 2003... Advanced Spaceport and Range Technologies Conference - The annual ASRT Conference will be held at the Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando this week. The conference begins with a social on May 12, then includes four days of presentations and sessions regarding emerging spaceport and range technology roadmaps, ground checkout and launch control, payload processing, and related education, outreach, and commerce development activities. CCT co-founder and vice president Kevin Brown will roll out the national 25-year roadmap for range command and control technology on May 15. More>>

May 6, 2003... Eric Sorton, senior member of CCT's technical staff, will be presenting a discussion on "Remastering KNOPPIX" tonight at the Melbourne Linux Users Group.  CCT welcomes a new family member- Eric and Shelly Sorton delivered a 7 lbs 3oz. healthy baby girl at 5:58 AM, at Wuesthoff  hospital. The new team member's name is Audrey Gale.

April 29, 2003... CCT Awarded Contract for Cryogenic Fueling Control System. NASA's Wallops Flight Facility and the Virginia Space Flight Center have awarded a contract to CCT for a cryogenic propellant fueling facility control system. Space Congress - The 40th Annual Space Congress begins today in Cape Canaveral, Florida. 

April 28, 2003... CCTK Developer's Training - CCT begins a week-long customer site training course for engineers and programmers at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The training course will educate operators and engineers in methods for customizing CCT software for future range operations at the facility. Congressional Dinner - The Florida Space Business Roundtable sponsors the annual Congressional Award dinner tonight to award the Explorer and Bumper awards to leading contributors to the Florida space community. The dinner will be held this evening in Cape Canaveral.

NASA purchases new T-Zero licenses - NASA's Wallops Flight Facility has purchased three licenses for CCT's T-Zero process sequencer software and associated technical support and maintenance. The products will be used to explore new operations concepts for launch range operations at the Virginia launch site.

Product Briefing to Honeywell - CCT vice president Kevin Brown presents the latest product offerings to several project teams at Honeywell's space division today.  Visualization Technology helps Plan "Space Traffic Control" - CCT has applied the open source Visualization Toolkit to produce a new graphics program for mission planning and analysis of space launch vehicles. The new program renders space transition corridors, mission vehicle trajectories, Air Route Traffic Control Centers and sectors, and aircraft flight routes in 2D and 3D images positioned on accurate maps of the Earth and the U.S. national airspace system. This tool is part of a CCT research project to integrate air and space traffic control.

NASA Range Control Center work order - CCT and LJT & Associates have been contracted to provide initial system engineering and concept of operations development for the planned range control center at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. This effort builds on the system design, customization and product installations previously provided by CCT to Wallops.

September 12... Contract Awarded to CCT - The Coleman Aerospace division of L-3 Communications awarded a contract to CCT today to analyze the demand for launching small payloads at a new price point of under $1 million per flight. Today's launchers offer special packages for small payloads for between $3 million and $8 million per flight and offer no telemetry or other services. A new capability under development by Coleman will make space accessible to this class of payloads for approximately $750,000 and offer up to 50 launch opportunities per year. CCT's extensive aerospace customer database will facilitate the study.  

September 11... Updated Product Released - CCT announces availability of the Command and Control Toolkit 2.0.2 software today. The new version of our flagship product offers an expanded data plotting capability, the ability to stop and restart archival during mission operations, expanded data retrieval capabilities, and fixes to a number of minor bugs. Record-Level Spaceport Symposium Sponsorship Reached - The Cape Canaveral Spaceport Symposium has garnered over $40,000 in corporate sponsorships for this year's event, a 50% increase over last year. August 26... New orders received - NASA has placed additional orders for the Command and Control ToolkitTM software. The products will be deployed at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia as the data processing engine for a new universal data acquisition system for launch range upgrades.

August 21... Technical Demo  - CCT hosts a technology demonstration today of the Intelligent Launch and Range Operations Testbed prototype at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Wallops has formed a technical team to create specialized range simulators for potential launch customers. RADAC Design Review - CCT will also participate in the Critical Design Review for a new Range Data Acquisition computer network to be installed at Wallops. CCT is providing commercial command and control software products and custom software designs for the new system. Next Generation Range Concept Discussed - CCT representatives will present the "NextRange" concept to a team of range command and control experts creating technology roadmaps for the Advanced Range Technology Working Group. The NextRange concept is a 50-year framework for transforming space launch ranges into an aerospace traffic control network.  University-based Ground Systems Project - University of Central Florida and CCT map out a plan for integrating a new telemetry system capability into the university's advanced control and health monitoring technology development project today. The system, together with the Command and Control Toolkit™ software, will demonstrate new techniques for automatically controlling spacecraft in response to a variety of failure conditions. The work is sponsored by the Florida Space Grant Consortium.

July 11... CCT Assists UCF Technology Program - CCT technical staff is on-site today at the University of Central Florida to assist in applying Command and Control Toolkit technology to the Advanced Health Monitoring and Control System research initiative of the aerospace engineering department.

July 10... CCT to Present Testbed Paper - The Space Technology Applications International Forum has accepted a CCT paper for presentation at next year's conference entitled "Intelligent Launch and Range Operations Testbed."

Wallops Range Infrastructure Upgrade Demo -  CCT technical staff member John Ward and chief technology officer Rodney Davis assist the Advanced Range Technology Initiative team at NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility in Virginia demonstrate their new state-of-the-art range data acquisition computer network to program officials and range operators. Intelligent Control System technology - Real-Time Innovations presents their real-time software development environment for control systems to the PTVS team today at CCT headquarters in Titusville. RTI's chief technology officer, who also serves on the board for the Object Management Group, provides an update on industry efforts to establish standards for real-time middleware technology.

June 21... PTVS Requirements baselined - Boeing, NASA and CCT complete the definition of user needs for the PTVS project today. The completed PTVS User Requirements Document baselines payload processing requirements for the new system.

June 19...  Vision Spaceport Integration underway - The Vision Spaceport consortium kicks off a new project to integrate our space transportation system cost prediction tool into NASA's advanced engineering environment. This project will allow the cost model to accept data directly from vehicle development models to provide comprehensive cost projections for development and operations of new launch vehicle concepts. A commercial version of the operations cost model is available from CCT.

June 17...  NASA Range Upgrade Support - NASA's Wallops Flight Facility has purchased additional on-site technical support from CCT for assistance in standardizing their range decision support tools.

June 7... Health Monitoring and Control System Research Underway - Faculty and researchers from the University of Central Florida meet today at CCT to kick off a new research project for real-time monitoring and control technology funded by the Florida Space Grant Consortium. CCT is providing commercial software and support services to UCF's Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering for the project.

May 31... Testbed Prototype Demo- CCT hosts a technology demonstration of the Intelligent Launch and Range Operations Testbed prototype today for representatives from the U.S. Air Force 45th Space Wing.

May 28... New products ordered - CCT received orders today from the Kennedy Space Center for additional software licenses for the Command and Control Toolkit ™ product and the T-Zero™ process automation and visulization tool. NASA's Spaceport Engineering and Technology group at KSC will use the products to demonstrate new streamlined techniques for preparing Space Shuttle payloads for flight, including concept of operations presentation, flight software simulation, mobile processing, and data analysis and reduction.

May 21... Advanced Range Command Group Meeting - CCT and other national launch range stakeholders meet via telecon this afternoon to lay out plans for the Advanced Range Technology Working Group command and control subgroup, and to identify space launch range technology projects and needs.

May 20... Florida Space Authority Spotlights CCT - This month's newsletter from the Florida Space Authority highlights CCT and recent work performed for the Authority at Space Launch Complex 20 on the Cape Canaveral Spaceport.

May 17... New Analysis Project Awarded - CCT has received an operations analysis contract to assist the NASA-KSC Spaceport Technology group integrate strategic planning software for future space vehicles into the advanced engineering environment used for NASA's Space Launch Initiative. CCT collaborated with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and others to create the strategic planning software, which  predicts operations costs, cycle times, and flight rates for new launch vehicle concepts. A commercial version of the software will be available later in 2002. Debus Award Dinner Tonight - CCT representatives join over 300 space industry executives in a social setting this evening in Cocoa Beach to honor this year's Debus Award recipient Rick Abramson of Delaware North. Apollo 17 astronaut Gene Cernan provides the keynote address.

May 14... New Contract Acquisition at KSC - NASA briefs the aerospace engineering industry today on a new University-Affiliated Spaceport Technology Development Contract to be conducted at the Kennedy Space Center. Valued at up to $600 million over 8 years, the contract is a key component of the center's new vision as a spaceport technology development center. CCT has been closely involved with several spaceport technology development projects at KSC and is pursuing a role on the new contract.

May 13... CLCS Anniversery - Today marks CCT technical staff member Kerry Babcock's five year anniversary on the new Space Shuttle Checkout and Launch Control System. Kerry is developing  tools for application programmers to use in the development of the many diverse programs that will run during Space Shuttle launch countdown and testing. As a CLCS developer almost from its inception, Kerry as been a valuable resource for newer members of the CLCS team.

Seven CCT employees participated in this year's Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association scholarship fund golf tourney at Baytree National today in Melbourne, Florida. May 8... Key Launch System Problem Resolved - CCT technical staff member Kerry Babcock has resolved a key problem that could disconnect launch controllers from space shuttle simulators while testing new operations software. The work is part of a new launch system for the space shuttle called the Checkout and Launch Control System.

May 7... Test Design Presented for new Shuttle launch command software - CCT technical staff member Cathy Lashure presents the second major design document detailing software requirements for the space shuttle Checkout and Launch Control System manual command test loop suite. CCT is working with Lockheed Martin and others on various aspects of the new software under contract to Dynacs at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

April 30... 39th Space Congress in Cocoa Beach - The annual Space Congress is held this year at the Radisson at the Port in Cape Canaveral, Florida from April 30 through May 3. Sponsored by the Canaveral Council of Technical Societies, this year's Congress is focused on "Beginning a New Era—Initiatives in Space."  CCT and ACTA are presenting a jointly-prepared technical paper on "The Real Space Tourism," an assessment of the economic value and potential of earth-bound launch viewing in Florida.  The presentation is scheduled during the latter part of the Space Business Initiatives session from 1:00 to 4:00 on April 30.

April 26... UCF Aerospace Engineering Board meets - The industrial advisory committee for the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering department of the University of Central Florida holds their semi-annual meeting today in Orlando. Program accreditation renewal, new post-graduate degree programs, and the search for a new chairman of the department are on the agenda. CCT vice president Kevin Brown will chair the meeting at UCF's request.

April 25... Air Force Research Lab Briefings - CCT chief technology officer Rodney Davis is making a series of command and control system presentations to technologists in the Air Force Research Lab Air Vehicles Directorate at Wright Patterson AFB today. The briefings focus on the Command and Control Toolkit, the intelligent launch and range operations testbed, and new techniques for fusing large amounts of disparate data from independent sensors and presenting it in a way that supports rapid decision making.

April 24... Global Air & Space - CCT is attending the 2002 AIAA Global Air & Space Forum in Washington DC this week.

April 23... AIAA Entrepreneur Group Initated - Pete Simons, CCT president, participates in the charter meeting of the AIAA Entrepreneurial Alliance Leadership forum. The forum is a new initiative designed to foster alliances between large and small aerospace companies. CCT is a corporate member of AIAA.

April 22... Long Term Plan for a Portable Payload Testing System Established - CCT and Boeing have completed a comprehensive plan for integrating the portable payload test and verification technology now under development into space shuttle operations over the next 10 years. This plan will lead to a seven month reduction in the time required for a new payload customer to reach orbit, and substantially cut support costs at KSC as the three major payload testing systems are consolidated using new software product line techniques.

April 19... Portable Payload Testing System broadens reach - NASA's project to create a portable test and verification system for testing payloads during buildup at the factory has initiated a new round of requirements review with potential users. Future users associated with space shuttle payloads, space station ground test, Hubble Space Telescope operations in Maryland, space shuttle operations in Houston, and JPL engineers have begun a new round of requirements review for the new system this week.

April 18... Officer's Club Luncheon - Lt.  Gen. C. Norman Wood, USAF (Ret.), president of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronic Association Internation,  addresses the Patrick Air Force Base Officer's Club today at lunch. Bill Collins, CCT Government Affairs Manager, will attend the event and meet with Air Force officials planning the November Cape Canaveral Spaceport Symposium.

Alabama Explores Cutting Edge Education Technology - CCT meets with representatives from the Aerospace Development Center in Alabama to discuss new education-oriented applications of CCT control system technology. Spring Newsletters - The Spring issue of CCT's newsletter, "The Control Center" will be mailed today.  Activity-based costing model research - Dr. Alex Ruiz-Torres of the University of Texas at El Paso, is visiting at the Kennedy Space Center this week. Dr. Ruiz-Torres is interviewing NASA experts in the fields of thermal protection systems and main propulsion to gain in-depth knowledge of shuttle processing activities in these areas. This expert knowledge will be used by Dr. Ruiz-Torres and CCT engineers, David Hobbs and David Fortner, to develop a prototype of an activity based costing model for predicting operations costs of future launch vehicles.

April 9... Cape Canaveral Spaceport Symposium Planning - CCT will assist the Florida Spaceport Management Council in planning this year's Cape Canaveral Spaceport Symposium, to be held in Cape Canaveral on November 13-14, 2002. The council is comprised of the U.S. Air Force 45th Space Wing, NASA's Kennedy Space Center, and the Florida Space Authority. April 8... Space Shuttle Launch - Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off today for the International Space Station. The STS-110 mission will deliver and install a key component of the station's truss. CCT is part of a team developing a new space shuttle launch control system at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Payloading Testing Technology Reviewed - Boeing, NASA, and CCT members of the Payload Test and Verification System (PTVS) team meet today at CCT to develop methods and scenarios for verifying key quality measures of the PTVS technology to be deployed for streamlining space shuttle payload processing.

April 3... Industry Committee Reviews Proposals - The Florida Space Industry Committee Board of Directors meets today to review proposals for improving the Florida space infrastructure. Recent state regulations have mandated industry input for infrastructure proposals seeking state funding.

March 21... Space Traffic software modules completed - CCT has completed the mapping subsystem and mission database components of the Integrated National Aerospace Control Toolset, an experimental tool set for integrating future launch vehicles into the air traffic control system.  SOV control center planned - CCT chief technology officer Rodney Davis is  in New Mexico today to meet  with officials from the Air Force Research Lab, Schafer, and Boeing to formulate plans for the Air Force Space Operations Vehicle Flight Operations Control Center. The preliminary concept is to re-use some of the facilities originally developed for the Delta Clipper DC-X prototype launcher.

March 20... Future Spaceport Concept Development - CCT, NASA and other representatives of the spaceport industry gather this week in Titusville, Florida to outline challenges and opportunities for creating spaceports of the future. Defense Strategies & Systems Inc. of Reston, VA is facilitating.  CCT team wins DARPA contract - A team led by Coleman Aerospace including CCT and Vela Technologies has been awarded a phase 1 contract to develop a concept for Responsive Access, Small Cargo and Affordable Launch System (RASCAL) concept. DARPA plans to develop RASCAL as a low cost means for placing satellites in low earth orbit. CCT will help Vela and Coleman develop the RASCAL command and control architecture using our COTS products.

March 19... Florida Space Authority visits CCT - FSA executive director meets with CCT management today to discuss the agency's new mission and how they are re-deploying to support Florida space companies like CCT.

March 18... Vision Spaceport commercialization - Boeing and Lockheed Martin representatives meet today at CCT to work out a framework for commercializing the software technology developed by the Vision Spaceport project. The software predicts non-recurring and recurring operations costs for new space launch vehicle concepts.

March 8... Pete's a father... again! - Maxwell Charles Simons, son of CCT president Pete Simons, was born today. Baby, mother - Linda Simons, and big sister Alex are all doing great.

February 28... Shuttle software test automation - CCT engineers Cathy LaShure and Kim Nicodemus continue the preliminary design review today of the automated test software they are developing for NASA's new Space Shuttle Checkout and Launch Control System. Cathy and Kim are developing programming building blocks which, when complete, will allow for rapid development of a suite of automated tests for the system. These automated tests will increase test coverage and reduce lifecycle testing costs. In addition, most of the automated tests can be run overnight at off-peak times, maximizing utilization of computer resources.

February 19... CCT/NASA Paper Wins Award - CCT engineer Curtis Myhand and NASA technologist Phillip Meade received the Best Paper award for their paper, The Use of Product Line Based Checkout Systems for Payload Processing, from the 20th Digital Avionics Systems Conference.

February 14... Florida Space Industry Committee - Space industry meets today in Cape Canaveral to review key issues facing the Florida Space Industry.  CCT is a member of the committee.

February 12... Space Industry Day in Florida's Capital - Florida space industry leaders from CCT and other firms converge on the state capitol today to discuss industry issues with the governor and state legislators. The day's agenda includes astronaut visits, space station exhibits, and educational panels.

His remarks will focus on incorporating future space vehicles into the air traffic control system and related CCT research.

Future Technologies in Commercial Space Transportation Addressed - CCT has been invited by the Federal Aviation Administration to participate on a panel of experts in future technologies for space transportation. CCT president Pete Simons will join Mr. Rolf Hamke, Chief Engineer on Aerojet's Advanced Reusable Rocket Engine, Mr. Vic Villhard, Associate of Booz Allen Hamilton and former director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House, Mr. Jeff Greason, president of XCOR, and Dr. Eric Rice, president of Orbitec, who has explored future uses of space including space colonies.  Mr. Simons will present and discuss technologies associated with integrating space vehicles into the air traffic control system.
