FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA - December 19, 2005 - Command and Control Technologies Corporation recently delivered a command and control system for border security and surveillance to the Department of Homeland Security that will be used as a pathfinder for introducing new sensor fusion, and situation awareness technology. The command and control segment presents border security personnel with decision support tools identifying, classifying, and intercepting border incursions. The increasingly complex environment of the U.S. borders drives the requirement for the presentation and interactive control of the stream of information arriving from the various data sources and sensors deployed. The Situation Awareness picture becomes fragmented without the benefit of data fusion and correlation to present a true picture from all information sources. The system, called the "Data, Sensor, Alert - Fusion Center" (DSA-FC), will enable capabilities currently not available and implement a new Concept of Operations for border security. It will provide local, state, and federal agencies the tools necessary to deny access and use of our ports, borders, and coastal regions for transporting illegal persons, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and contraband across U.S. borders. The command and control segment of the DSA-FC is based on CCT's Command and Control ToolkitTM (CCTK) product line adapted for border security operation. The command and control segment acquires and fuses data from radar, seismic, infrared, and proximity sensors, as well as border patrol agents in the field to produce an integrated real-time tactical blue-force, red-force situation awareness picture. In addition, the command and control segment autonomously prioritizes and tracks targets with remote control cameras and facilitates automatic assignment, dispatch, and intercept of border patrol agents in the field. "Our software toolset is well suited to Security and Surveillance applications", said company president Peter Simons, "this system will provide significantly enhanced automation of border security functions, a key objective for the Department of Homeland Security." But perhaps most importantly, the CCTK is a framework designed specifically for configuration flexibility, and extension that can grow and evolve with the rapidly expanding border patrol needs for increased situation awareness and operations automation. CCTK is also being applied at a leading academic research institution for use in harbor security applications in the Northeast United States. CCT delivered the command system to Global Technical Solutions (GTS www.gtshq.com) of Virginia Beach. GTS is the systems integrator and prime contractor for the program. The program is being developed for the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate. The system is scheduled to be deployed in Arizona in early 2006 for field-testing and demonstration after which production development is expected to begin. Command and Control Technologies Corporation is a computer technology company specializing in mission critical automation systems and software tools that enable decision-focused situation awareness.
