TITUSVILLE, FL - Command and Control Technologies announced today that Janice Horn, senior member of the technical staff, will head the company's newly formed Space Systems Engineering and Operations division, effectively immediately.

The new department will perform systems engineering, operations analysis, and other system-related tasks for projects related to specific customers. "Janice’s background is ideally suited to leading this new organization," said Rodney Davis, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. "She has already made significant contributions to the startup phase of our company, and this new responsibility opens up even greater opportunities for her and her staff to help the company move forward."

One of her first roles will be principal investigator for a NASA-funded research project investigating tools for integrating flights of new reusable launchers into the national airspace system. She will also join the Vision Spaceport project at KSC (see www.visionspaceport.org for details).

Ms. Horn's previous assignments include chief engineer of the spaceport control system at the new commercial spaceport in Kodiak Alaska. Her background also includes tenure as test director at the Churchill Range in Canada, chief of spacecraft launch and on-orbit operations/engineering for the U.S. Air Force, activation and launch control responsibilities for the Atlas II complex at Cape Canaveral, and a variety of classified assignments for the Air Force. She also brought the first-ever commercial off the shelf six-degree of freedom rocket trajectory modeling software to market.

Ms. Horn holds bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering. Her master's degree was earned at the Air Force Institute of Technology.
