Brevard Firm Receives NASA Technology License

TITUSVILLE, FL – November 18, 1997 – Command and Control Technologies Corp.

Command and Control Technologies Corporation (CCT), located on Florida’s Space Coast, announced it has completed a technology transfer agreement with NASA to commercialize Kennedy Space Center’s spacecraft ground processing software program. The program, known as the Control Monitor Unit (CMU), was developed by NASA to prepare International Space Station elements for launch. CCT plans to significantly expand the capability of the program, rename it the Command and Control Toolkit, and build a complete product line around it. The resulting product line will include computer systems specifically adapted to preparing, launching, and operating rockets and orbiting satellites.

The agreement calls for NASA to license the software to CCT in return for royalties and other consideration. The firm estimates they will save the roughly $3 million that NASA has already spent on design and development of the program.

CCT is the first company to license the CMU software. While other companies are expected to express interest in obtaining licenses to this program from NASA, the completed agreement grants CCT exclusive rights to sell the program to new commercial customers. This is the first copyright technology transfer agreement executed through KSC this year.

Command and Control Technologies Corporation is located at the Florida/NASA Business Center on BCC’s Titusville campus. For further information call Kevin Brown at (407)383-5282.
