IRIG 161 CCTK Interface Option

CCT recently completed a new generic synchronous serial interface plug-in for acquisition and simulation of radar and TSPI tracking instrumentation data. The synchronous serial interface supports acquisition and simulation of IRIG 161 compliant data streams, and since it is integrated with the CCTK middleware, it comes with a robust suite of processing, visualization, recording, and re-distribution services. The plug-in is also available for the entire line of integrated platforms: TelSim telemetry simulator, C² TM Gateway, and the CCS2000 Command and Control Server.

Major features of the synchronous serial interface include:

Synchonous RS-232 and RS-422 data acquisition and transmission

The IRIG 161 synchronous serial interface is implemented based on a 4 channel serial controller UPCI board. The interface can be configured to support the maximum number of PCI slots available in the host. The TelSim can be configured to support 20 IRIG 161 channels simultaneously for acquisition and/or simulation.

The IRIG 161 interface was created using a new software auto-generation technology CCT is developing with cooperation and funding from the Air Force and NASA called "Auto-generated Semantic Processing Services" or AGSP. The technology produces real-time marshalling software that is auto-generated from a high level protocol specification, minimizing the need for special I/O software programming. The approach produces very efficient code optimized for the target platform and OS. CCT expects to significantly expand the number of interfaces supported by this techique in the near future. We also anticipate offering the AGSP technology commerically as an independent toolkit that can generate code suitable for integration in to almost any legacy or future system that has to interoperate using messages, frames, or packets.
