GLG Real-time Graphical Visualization

Available on GSA only from CCT for federal and state government customers

GLG Toolkit is an extremely flexible and robust graphical framework for building sophisticated and flexible visual interfaces that display real-time data. Graphics interfaces built with the GLG Toolkit include advanced mapping capabilities and are portable between C/C++, Java, AJAX and .NET applications on a variety of Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.

Major Features:

  • Design HMI screens with the GLG Graphics Builder
  • Use existing symbol and widget libraries or create new symbols and add them to symbol palettes
  • Vast collection of graphs, dials and other widgets
  • Interactively create dynamic objects with elaborate run-time behavior driven by dynamic data
  • Easily connect object dynamics to live data variables using tag names
  • Convenient programming access to all objects and their dynamic attributes via resources
  • Integrated GIS Object with advanced mapping capabilities
  • C/C++, Java and .NET libraries for a variety of Windows and Unix/Linux platforms, MFC, Motif, Qt and Gtk support.
  • Cross-platform OpenGL support for hardware-accelerated graphics with a native GDI fallback option.
  • Choices of thin and thick client for web deployment - AJAX Graphics Server or Java
  • Run-time creation of HMI screens from configuration data and custom diagramming capabilities using the GLG Extended API
  • 3D dynamics and constraints

GLG Toolkit is a state-of-the-art framework for developing highly graphical dynamic interfaces: not just simple buttons and menus, but fully animated graphical objects that show dynamic data and react to users' interactions. It is not just a drawing tool for creating "pretty pictures" (there are plenty), but a graphical engine that allows developers to define graphical objects and interact with them from a program. It is uniquely targeted towards an application developer, converting a tedious job of coding low-level graphics into an engaging interactive design of high-level behavior.
