Reference Material:

The C2TM Gateway is uniquely engineered to enable decision-focused situation awareness with unparalleled configuration flexibility, timely information processing and visualization, and robust interoperability. The C2TM Gateway can deliver your mission critical telemetry data synchronized, fused, and in context, to wherever you do business: on your desktop, in the lab, the control center, and over the Internet.

Built on the latest PC multi-processing computer technology, the newest and most powerful PCI telemetry components available, and Linux; C2TM Gateway is powered by the Command and Control Toolkit (CCTKTM) open software architecture. CCTK is real-time command and control middleware that has demonstrated the ability to integrate a wide variety of dissimilar information sources for mission critical decision-making.

Network Enabled Operation. The CCTK enhances C2TM Gateway interoperability with network based communications gateway services for broadcast, point-to-point, peer-to-peer, HTTP, as well as semantic exchange between communicating systems.

Real-time Visualization. The C2TM Gateway provides customizable graphical visualization capability for user interaction and end-item control and monitoring. The integrated Glg Toolkit provides an interactive environment for creating dynamic 2D and 3D graphics in a point-and-click editor. Dynamic widgets such as graphs, dials, gauges, and valves are animated by real-time data. Graphical displays can be optionally deployed in native C/C++ (for optimum performance) or as Java applets, which can be accessed locally, or remotely across the Internet in a web browser. An optional GIS map widget and other advanced visualization features are also available.

Modular Data Processing Chains. C2TM Gateway provides standard yet flexible processing algorithms for performing data conversion, filtering, and evaluating data for state conditions (conversion, linearization, compression, data health, & events). Provisions are also made for adding custom algorithms. Processing modules can be chained together in a near infinite number of combinations. A library of tracking algorithms is also available with the RangeNetTM add-on option.

Extensibility. Even though C2TM Gateway is ready to use right out of the box, it comes with powerful customization tools for user-created graphical visualization, data processing modules, a variety of external communication interfaces, a unique virtual channel technology for tailoring real-time communications bandwidth, scripting shell, and an optional application development environment for integrating custom application software.

Telemetry Simulation. The C2TM Gateway optionally provides real-time generation of IRIG 106 compliant telemetry via an integrated simulation environment that supports modeling the continuous or discrete time behavior of any device, target, or system. Using the simulation graphical user interface, or scripting environment, simulations can be quickly and easily composed in to mission scenarios for verification of other systems, mission/operation dress rehearsals, operator training and qualification, and validation of processing algorithms and displays.

Recording and Analysis. Raw and processed telemetry and events are digitally recorded and indexed to optimize throughput and near-real-time access. Remote users can logon and access mission data for immediate analysis or export to other tools for data reduction, even during real-time operations. Mission data can also be played back or integrated with simulations for further analysis and operator training.

Tarsus PCM Telemetry Board Family: The C2 TM Gateway uses the Tarsus board family of products that are based on the latest advances in Altera FPGA technology with the latest data acquisition integrated circuits that creates a very versatile telemetry processor card. The board has the ability to perform many different unique data acquisition and telemetry processing functions including dual full digitally implemented bit synchronizers, PCM decommutators, simulators, multi-channel clock data recovery (CDR) modules, SGLS modulator/demodulator and many other data acquisition applications. The basis for the card is two 14-bit analog to digital paths into over 3 million gates of user configurable space. The card has two 12-bit high-speed digital to analog outputs that can also be user configurable. The FPGA are field configurable.
